Why the School system Fails Introverts.

The world is not necessarily designed for introverts. Being an introvert myself I’ve noticed a total difference with how school treats us. The school system ignores my needs and replaces them with what they think is needed to seceded in life. I came up with a five point list as to why the school system fails introverts. These are points and reasons I think schools should take into consideration when dealing with introverts.

1.Teachers grade on quantity and not quality.

“Quiet people have the loudest minds.” Stephen Hawking

This is the biggest problem I have currently. Teachers refuse to grade based on how well the student did, but instead they grade on how much work they’ve turned in. We can at times be slow movers because we want to think it through. They have most likely put their hard time into making quality essay or project just to get an C, D, F. All because it wasn’t what they teacher expected.

2.They need breaks.

“For introverts, to be alone with our thoughts is as restorative as sleeping, as nourishing as eating.” ~ Jonathan Rauch

Bombarding an introvert with work will easily make them overwhelmed. Instead I think they should allow them to move at a pace fit for them. Let them regroup and relax to get the best out of them. Also that brings me to say DO NOT NAG THEM. Again it will only make things frustrating and more overwhelming. Do not get their minds anymore frazzled then they probably already are. Take things slow for a smoother ride.

3.Stop judging by their participation.

“Don’t underestimate me because I’m quiet. I know more than I say, think more than I speak and observe more than you know.” ~ Michaela Chung

Many introverts do best on their own because they are more creative and well off alone. They may not stand out in the crowd, raise their hand, scream the answer at the top of their lungs but they are very intelligent people. Teachers and other peers might think that since they don’t participate they are stupid or aren’t listening. They participate when they want too and have the energy too. Let them chose whether to participate in a group or not. Forcing them will only make them have less energy and most likely frustrate them.

4.They have needs.

“A good rule of thumb is that any environment that consistently leaves you feeling bad about who you are is the wrong environment.” ~ Laurie Helgoe

Many introvert are neglected by the system. They are often left behind because no body understands that they are WAY different form all of the other 20-something students in the class. You can’t treat every student the same. Ways to fix this would be to consider asking the student what gives them anxiety or what helps them get work done. Some might want to do work in a quiet environment some need some air and time to think, some need to work on their own. Just cater to their needs to get the best work out of them.

These points ive listed here are points I think are the most important to an introverted child in school. Feel free to tell me what thinks you think should be included in the school system, if so what and why. Thanks for reading!

What They dont Know

I’ve always been out for the truth. I never settle for anything that is not and has not been proven. Yet I know the people around me are complete opposite. Anything they see or read on Facebook or on a fake news station they automatically believe it without an ounce of doubt. To me I see it as completely mindless and ignorant. To never question something a person post or says online shows that you have no interest in the truth. I have always been skeptical of…everything. Always questioning and researching. I have a deep hatred for lies and hate being on the dark end of the pool. But that’s just how society lives I mean come on if I told them that frogs can read minds they would most likely believe it. I don’t know how they just would. The amount of ignorance today’s world allows in makes me feel alien. I like concrete evidence they like Instagram evidence. Many conversations that I’ve had people have said some of the most mindless things that they believe. It’s hard because being an introvert, online school student, and truth seeker its tough biting my tongue when someone tells a lie that I know the truth about. I just want to educate them and tell them the truth but they were and are so stuck in their own ignorance. It makes me pity the close minded ignorant people who know nothing except what they were told from the faux media. My family so happens to not be the smartest of the smart. I seal my mouth because I wouldn’t want to give my energy to someone who has no desire to know the truth. I say something to them it goes out the other ear. I applaud the truth seekers. The ones that quietly seek the truth. At least you know what they don’t. The truth.

Ps. feel free to ask questions and debate. Im open to anybodys thoughts and opinions.
